I was trudging through the Cleveland Metroparks on my Surly Moonlander, full well knowing the paved trail was no good place for a fatbike. I wanted a measuring stick, of sorts, to judge how fast I was actually riding in comparison to the regular bike I'd ridden for hundreds of miles here this past season. I wasn't making much progress. Perhaps going half the speed I would manage with fully-inflated (and skinnier) tires.
But that isn't the point of having a fatbike. This blog is dedicated to showing why there's no need for speed.
